Are any third party applications required to access your site or transfer files?

 

You must have an internet browser (Microsoft Internet Explorer is recommended) and a program which allows you to receive email. There are no requirements for ANY third party applications to use the TADTechnology system.

How do I get my clients' source documents and/or accounting files?

 

The client scans in the source documents and, using TADTechnology, securely uploads the scanned documents. Accounting files can also be uploaded. Once an upload is complete, you will be notified automatically via email.

How do my clients scan documents?

 

We recommend Visioneer scanners because they are low cost, compact, and fast. They also come with the highly acclaimed Visioneer Paperport software. The Paperport software creates easy to read electronic images in a .max format. Paperport .max files are easy to read yet small in size. This makes transferring .max files via the upload/download feature of TADTechnology faster than other electronic image formats. Your clients can quickly scan a whole stack of papers and then upload them to you, using the upload feature of TADTechnology. Once you receive the documents, you can download them and go to work! Visioneer Paperport software works with most other scanners also.

Does TADTechnology charge my clients?

 

No. TADTechnology will charge you based on the account package you selected when you signed up. If you elect to charge these costs back to your clients, you can do so in whatever method seems most appropriate for your firm.

What if I have more than the 100 clients allowed under the TADTechnology Premium Plus Account?

How can I be sure my client data and information is secure with TADTechnology?

 

TADTechnology uses 128 bit SSL security provided by GeoTrust to ensure secure and confidential client-server transactions while users are logged into their TADTechnology accounts. This means you can rest assured that communications (e.g. credit card numbers) between your browser and the TADTechnology servers are private and secure when the SSL session is activated.

TADTechnology internet and intranet network connections are firewalled and filtered to allow only permitted traffic.

Files on TADTechnology are locked using Microsoft® Windows security and permissions. TADTechnology authentication methods for logins use the Kerberos protocol which is among the most secure and reliable protocols for authentication.

TADTechnology constantly monitors Microsoft security updates for its systems and applies all necessary security patches.

TADTechnology performs regular in-house backups of data so that it can be restored if and when needed.

LiveVault backup and recovery service is used by TADTechnology for offsite backups, in case of a total hardware failure at the Internet Data Facility that is used to house all TADTechnology critical hardware.

TADTechnology provides hard drive redundancy in case of hard drive failures and data clustering in case of server failures. With hard drive redundancy, a second hard drive takes over if one fails. With data clustering, data is replicated to a secondary server creating two sets of live data in case one server fails.

All TADTechnology servers and critical hardware are housed in a secure Internet Data Center that is designed expressly for keeping computers in a safe, clean, cool environment. Among other features, this facility provides the following security measures for hardware systems:

How do I create electronic documents for my clients to download, view and/or print?

 

Acrobat, developed by Adobe Inc., is a software program that allows users to create a PDF (portable document format). This is the most universally accepted document format for the web. To create PDF files, you must purchase the full version of Adobe Acrobat. Acrobat comes with extensive documentation on features, use and installation. If you need help creating documents via Adobe Acrobat, please contact them directly. Your clients can download the Adobe Acrobat Reader for FREE to view and/or print these files.

Note: The solution recommended here is only that, a recommended solution. Creating electronic documents can be done in a number of other programs including Visioneer Paperport, Microsoft Word, etc. Most file types are supported in the TADTechnology upload and download feature. However, be sure that the party downloading the file has the correct application to view the file.

Is there specific accounting software that has to be used?

 

No, TADTechnology's system is compatible with most accounting software systems. There is no need to convert your clients to special accounting software in order to use the TADTechnology system.

What kinds of files can I transfer?

 

While you can transfer most types of files on the TADTechnology system, we do restrict files of certain types that might potentially harm or interrupt service to our servers. These restricted file types are those files with the following extensions: .exe, .dll, .com or .ini. We also do not allow files with no extension to be uploaded. Keep in mind that larger files will take longer to transfer and all transfers speeds are dependent upon your Internet connection.

Can my client and I work on the accounting file at the same time?

 

Yes. By purchasing the Realtime Upgrade, you and your client can work in an approved accounting application at the same time. For the current list of hosted Realtime Applications, please click here.
